Year 29

2022

Our 29th live Festival was celebrated in style with the return of the Kintyre Schools Pipe Band street performances before leading the Festival Parade on the Saturday afternoon. The concerts were incredibly well supported, with events such as the Traditional Concert with Aly Bain & Phil Cunningham selling out well in advance.

The Glenn Scotia West Coast Rocks Concert had two incredible headline bands in Trail West and Elephant Sessions, both making their festival debuts. Also making their debut was the Fiobha Ceilidh Band, Cala Band and Allie Shaw and Ross Martin at the Beinn an Tuirc Gaelic Night.

Returning to perform for the first time since year one was Brain McNeill, who headlined the Kilkerran Dalriada Connections Concert with Ceolta from Northern Ireland. Also returning was our long-time festival friend from Alabama Scooter Muse to perfume at various concerts and sessions throughout the weekend.

Scooter is also one of our regular tutors, along with Lorne MacDougal, Ciaran Mulholland and Arran McAllister at our Campbeltown Grammar Workshops. This year we also firmed up links with the Royal Conservatoire in Glasgow by having Ellie Beaton and Gillie O’Flaherty tutoring workshops and playing support at the Traditional Concert.
