Slainte Davaar Allstars will once again headline this year’s Kilkerran Survivors Night. Every year, the band recruit new and incredibly talented musicians to join them on stage to produce a sound that is a powerhouse of vocals, lively rhythm section and dazzling horns all fused into one.
If past years are anything to go by, Campbeltown’s supergroup will close out the 30th live Festival celebration with an exquisite set — this one is not to be missed.
The Festival Ceilidh opens with our own award-winning pipe band, The Kintyre Schools Pipe Band and their dedicated tutors will once again march into the to provide a stunning performance to get the night under way.
Fling are a dynamic 5-piece party band from Campbeltown with a reputation for filling dance floors – performing a mix of classic anthems and contemporary hits. From timeless rock, soul and sing-a-long favourites to disco grooves and chart-topping pop, Fling’s versatility shines through, seamlessly mixing genres to perform the perfect playlist for any party.
The Kintyre Chorale is a group of female vocalists hailing from Campbeltown and surrounding area. The chorale founded almost 25 years ago are a versatile bunch singing in three and four part harmony, covering many genres from traditional, classical to pop and rock. They hold events in their own right from formal concerts to public singalongs and perform at concerts and events across the Kintyre area. Conducted by Mhairi Renton the thirty strong group whose members range in age from 15 to 80 are always up for any challenge and definitely enjoy a good party!!
It’s great to see Alex, Archie and Arran back on stage again at Survivors Night. Alex and Archie have played many times with the Wee Toon Tellers at Survivors and they also performed at the Saturday Headline concert in 1994. Arran is no stranger to the stage and has played with the Dalriada Connections Band and his own band Rhuvaal many times at the festival.
