Year 25

MOKFEST 25 was celebrated in style with the Peatbog Faeries, Bombskare and Start Static at the Vic on Saturday night. The Shee and Jim Malcolm performed at the Heritage Centre on Sat night, and in the same venue, the legendary Arty McGlynn and Nollaig Casey headlined the Mitchell’s Glengyle Dalriada Connections Concert with Gillian Frame, Tom Oakes and a host of local and visiting artists.

Dunoon-based Heron Valley get everyone dancing at the Festival Ceilidh following performances by Rose Room, Dalriada Connections Band and Kintyre Schools Pipe Band. The Gaelic night featured artists including Norman MacKinnon and Sandy Brodie, and Survivors Night featured eight acts, including Twisted Melons, Deep Joy, Wee Toon Tellers, Kintyre Schools Pipe Band, Gullion, Gilchristians, Il Brasso and Session A83.

The 25th year also saw some new events including the CalMac Culture Festival Club in the Town Hall, complementing established festival favourite Young Folk Night.
