Doon the Green is back

Mull of Kintyre Music Festival celebrates 30th live year

We are thrilled to announce that Doon the Green will be back for MOKFEST’s 30th-anniversary celebrations!

This hugely popular Saturday afternoon event on Saturday, Aug 12, will start at 1 pm and feature live music from Dr Hip and the Blues Operation, Campbeltown’s own Blues duo Tommy and Stewart Blue, and Kintyre Schools Pipe Band, who will open the festivities. James McCorkindale School of Highland Dance and SG Taekwon-Do Scottish Highlands will also perform, and Funky Chicken Fun will provide children’s entertainment.

We’re excited to let everyone know that there will also be an area set aside for community stands and stalls, so please contact us here to book your stalls.

The Saturday afternoon will kick off with the Kintyre Schools Pipe Band, leading the Grand Parade through the streets of Campbeltown. The Parade will be back to its glory days with display floats and local community groups taking part.

If you’re interested in joining the parade, please contact us via our site or drop us a message via Facebook Messenger.

The Parade will march up Main Street, turn left at Longrow before moving onto Aqualibrium Avenue and ending at Kinloch Green.

Find out more about the event, including loads of photos from across the years, at our dedicated Doon The Green page.

Don’t forget to purchase your tickets for this year’s concerts, which will headline with Skipinnish, The Fiona Hunter Trio, Kathleen MacInnes, Skara Ceilidh Band, Mairi Campbell, Archie McAllister, and Sileas Sinclair and Slainte Davaar Allstars! Tickets can also be purchased locally from AP Taylor Mans Shop & Kilt Hire.
