Year 17

2009

Yet again the Festival had sell out concerts with piping sensations The Red Hot Chilli Pipers heading the Victoria Hall on the Sat night. The first of the local supergroups formed that year when ‘Hoots Heppinin’ performed for one year only at both the Saturday and Sunday night concerts.

Fergie MacDonald made his debut at the Festival Ceilidh Night with Hot Seats from Virginia, Suzanne Houston Band and Kintyre Schools Pipe Band also performing.

Dervish headlined the Traditional Concert in Campbeltown Picture House, with Brain Finnegan & Friends headlining the Mitchell’s Glengyle Dalriada Connections Concert.

Survivors was headlined by Wee Toon Tellers, and it was the year that The Gilchristians made their debut performing songs from Kenny Gilchrist.
